Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

The Real Homeless

With all the Admissions scandals at least EDMC was upfront about "for profit". Frankly as a taxpayer in a heavily taxed state I really do wish the schools and colleges were run more like for profit schools (it's sad to run any business and not try to make profits????) As for Dream Center DO NOT TRUST THEM! What about all the employees they left hungry and homeless? Good hard-working people that have their sweat and tears and now have nothing

GOD knows the truth. Charity begins at home you hippocrates.

For profit schools are the worst thing to ever happen to the educational system..the unbridled greed that is human nature eventually always takes over and the losers are always the students and the employees. There isn't one day that goes by that I don't feel like I compromised my integrity and should have left this blemish on the educational stage years ago..but got comfortable.

Aside from the obvious pain that this place has caused for so many, I wish that it had burned to the ground years ago...glad to see it go..lastly, for the soulless and useless people that decided that what DCEH did to those in California and other states that they pulled out of didn't matter, and stayed with the soon to fail Southern Art Institutes still sputtering along as the sad Campus administrators..shame on you...how does it feel to be so hollow and devoid of respect? I wonder how you look in the eyes of your families?

This was the master plan of DCF, buy the schools so they could close them causing employees without jobs and students with high debt to potential earning ratios to become homeless - then DCF can step in, provide services and collect more funds as a nonprofit. Simple and effective.

Non-profits just have to be more creative about how they spend their profits so the majority of it ends up lining their own pockets, all schools are a business based on capitalism (growth! profit!). Used to be only the IRS cared about the difference.

How did the father of medicine get mixed up in all this?

Non-profit is a misnomer. Look at SCAD. There are millions of profit. It is a tax structure.

Taxpayers get screwed either way. For-Profit or Not for profit. The money ends up coming from us

You wish more schools were operating like the for-profit cesspool. Well your wish is coming true, and it's called the College Meltdown?
