Is there a layoff in the horizon?
Working in the Eng dept, have friends in Product. Worried because on a visa.

The freeze may not be a bad sign, but it's certainly not a good one. Layoffs frequently follow cost-cutting, but cost cutting does not always lead to layoffs.
