What a ludicrous speculation. No one wants to even be a country mile from COP, the only remotely valuable assets they have remaining are Sparrowford and Alaska. I've seen speculation on this board about BP wanting the Slope assets...that's stupid too...it would be regarded as a trade monopoly. Now I could see Aramco buying Alaska, but don't turn my comment into a "verified rumor".

Bunch of BS
I wonder if they have technology officers and innovation managers paid millions for their genius value adds. Let’s hope so, no value to create without positions like that
Seems COP and Anadarko would have been a perfect culture fit (see Houston Chronicle Business April 17 #MeToo ). In both organizations, leaders seem to think it’s ok to have affairs with their employees. Anadarko has strengthened its policies to “specifically prohibit any officer from engaging in an intimate relationship with any employee, regardless of the reporting relationship”. Can you imagine “of course I screwed my boss” in HR advocating for a non-fraternization policy at COP?
Let’s see: overhyped assets presented by good old boys and sophisticated-sounding Europeans. A proven history of incompetence at Exploration. A Finance department that can’t forecast cash flow and confuses a balance sheet with a bedroom sheet. Huge sunk costs in overbuilding APLNG and Eagleford that guarantee we will never have cumulative positive earnings or a decent return on our investments. A culture of nepotism, gold-plating everything, Brown-nosing, screwed up rewards and recognition, and incestuous management.
Remind me why Chevron would have any interest in us?
chevron is only interested in top tier
Silly, Its not our SPIRIT values, they heard about our wild conference room parties in Bartlesville and want in on the 3 Tier action,
They’re after our SPIRIT values!!!
For COPs large debt load? Terrible assets? Poisonous culture? 10 tier management structure? PowerPoint skills? The bluster that they are shale giants?
Chevron is better than that....
I believe none of this.
