Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

Are you serious?!

I am not sure why employees would think posting negative posts here is helping you to survive through this or next or even next next round. Or I can assume some of you who post here were the ones already being let go and now trying to avenge this company by using keyboard spreading hate and fear to your ex-colleagues hiding behind the anonymous identity.

It has been clear that the upper management has been doing their best to steer this company toward success, look at the stock. It is at $64 now, 10% higher than the highest price in 2007 right around the Thomson acquisition of Reuters. Isn't that clear to to you all that which Business Unit was dragging us down. The Management is doing the necessary things here to ensure the investors value their hard work.

As for you, you can stop whining since no one is begging you to stay at this company. So you can either start looking for a job or just focus on your current one!

I would honestly be willing to bet any money that the person who wrote "Are You Serious?" is either someone in upper management or Human Resources. Someone out of touch and far removed from dealing with the day to day realities of this place.

Yes...we are serious. Maybe you work in a different department or are at a different level than the rest of us drones but there is serious discontentment in most areas of this company and for good reason. I would look at getting laid off as a blessing at this point. It is stressful interviewing for other jobs while working and using your own vacation/ sick time to do so while also dealing with the high level of stress and understaffing and lack of support at this lousy company with a corny name that is likely going to sell us off eventually anyway.

Focus of the management are layoffs and reorg. Leadership? Whats that? I dont even think they know how to spell that word....

Pathetic. I have seen zero leadership at Refinitiv. Absolutely zero! Marketing doesn’t have a clue, HR is even more clueless. Tech development has been stagnant for years. Put it this way... black stone bought a lemon

From the original poster: "It has been clear that the upper management has been doing their best to steer this company toward success, look at the stock. " Yes, loosing $500 million in annual revenue since 2012 clearly shows the best efforts of this management team. Lol.

Original post must have been made by some manager or brainwashed employee which is offered job whatever happens. This company become a joke, since day they announced the new name. Imagine how relevant is your CV when you write down that you worked for Refinitiv (do the same and use TR instead). Local handling of the whole process is also terrible, especially in Gdynia, people in management and HR acting like lost in space. Hope this whole thing will crash down faster so everyone will have its lifeboat around the corner. As this already is too much b---s--- to handle

Indeed it’s sad people are posting here. Why they do so? Because that website became more reliable than theHub itself. That’s why.

I'm trying to figure out your point. They dumped F&R and now their stock is a gargantuan 10% above where it was circa the crash. Quick, call Warren Buffett!

They owned those assets for more than a decade, and those same assets continued their decline. They're in such terrible shape they had to be sold to vulture capitalists in order to milk any value from them. They should be proud of this?

"Look at us! We sold the businesses we destroyed and now our stock almost tracks with statement savings account for the past decade! We're GENIUSES!"

My position was made redundant, backfilled in India. I loved TR but the way they handled the layoffs was done in poor taste. They had us all take the foolish Refinitiv pledge and two days later gave us our notices and sent us packing. They let go of a lot of good people. I think many will be going to competitors which is great! Maybe the competition actually cares about their employees.

This is regarding Refinitiv, not Reuters, which as you clearly stated has it's highs. So first, look at where you post. Second, company is handling layoffs in the worst possible way, so it's not a surprise people are angry - and it is about to get more interesting, when those layed off will hit the market with news/information how big nice Refinitiv handled this action.
