Everyone wants to know who's getting hit next, but it's too risky to name depts out here. Is anyone brave enough to make a cryptic prediction?

I can tell you exactly how it happens....you will get an invite for one-on-one with your manager (if you are WFH), but an HR rep will be included. Your manager will read from a SCRIPT and tell you that you are losing your job, then turn the call over the HR who will attempt to explain your severance pkg while you are completely stunned and sobbing. It s---ed!

@Z2TjEGb-3ttu - I could not agree with you more. Well said, if you do not want the "severance" then do not sign and choose what you want to do about it. Me, I wish they would just get all of this over with and get rid of me if they want to. I am tired of "waiting" it out.

That's the point of a severance package. They are willing to pay you to go away quietly. It's not to "reward" you for your years of service.

If you want to fight the offer or take any other action, the first thing you do is don't sign. Unfortunately most people don't realize it when HR is pushing the offer within hours of being told your job is gone and most people need the money. They know that too.

Pretty sure you have to sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) to get severance which prevents you from talking publicly about the RIFs. If you do talk, you have to pay it all back with lawyer's fees etc. And you can be sued.

If you want to talk, it's a big risk.

This is an interesting comment and no wonder we don't hear about it in the media. Do you have to sign a disclaimer? You can always wait and blow the whistle later, after the benefits are exhausted but it seems that people are carrying on with their lives and putting Anthem behind them. Maybe go to media anonymously ? Even people who have been gone a while haven't blown the whistle. I don't believe Anthem can do anything to an associate before they get laid off can they? that would be retaliation- just courious

Since this is anonymous I’d love to know which departments are receiving the emails. I haven’t heard of this approach yet but I know IT has let go a lot of people recently (hundreds?). Most were remote & managers didn’t have s day. They were told who to let go & when.

Sad and both infuriating at the same time. Associates including myself are just constantly watching out for the “email” that would eventually end it all. Is there anybody or any group that is actually doing anything to expose Anthem’s bad labor practices?
