I’m hearing a lot of guys here complaining about the agreement between Altice & 1049 for Freeport/Bethpage. Not one person has spoken for themselves & said what they would have liked to have been in the contract. The union has given all of us plenty of opportunities for our voices to be heard. There must have been at least 20 meetings in the last few months where the union wanted to know what we would all like in the contract. It was extremely disappointing going to every meeting & hardly seeing anyone there. Believe me I understand that everyone works very hard & just wants to go home after an exhausting day, but the union bent over backwards for us. They would stay late till 9-10 at nite, welcome anyone to call them at anytime, or personally speak with them at anytime. Please tell us, once & for all, what you would have wanted/expected to be in YOUR CONTRACT. Thank You for your time.

Guys let’s be realistic about this. Your not getting something from the union that you never had with the company. It just doesn’t work like that. You never had a pension with Altice, Cablevision yes years ago, but for the last time this is not Cablevision. I wish it was, but it’s not. We need to work with who & what we have & bargain from there. They (Freeport/Bethpage) got a good contract for their first one & will only get better in 3.5yrs. Let’s not forget they are no longer at will employees & are bound to their contract. If there not happy with something at work they can grieve it. Trust me, workload is something the union has known about for a long time now. Now that they have a grievance policy & lots of proof of extremely heavy workloads, it’s only a matter of when it will be fixed. Good luck to all the other depots who are currently negotiating their contracts & congratulations to the depots who ratified theirs.
It’s in the contract.
No lay-off clause

3% raise annually.
Is there a link to the actual contract?
From the other post it looks to me like a do nothing contract. Ok great no metrics, but what about actual job security? Severance security?
Im just not seeing whats so great about it that guys should ratify it
$300 boot allowance
Nothing. I think it’s good for the first one
