Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Did you go back after they laid you off and humiliated you?

With a pay cut?

Just curious if anyone is brave enough to answer this.

As per my previous post, because of the God-awful way we were treated when we were "laid off" and because the work environment was so depressing, you could not pay me enough to go back there. Terrible company to work for, never felt like my hard work was appreciated and God forbid they ever give you a bonus for all of this hard work. Hated going to the monthly meetings because it was all doom and gloom. At one point they even told us to watch our pen and pencil use so we can save money (because the Company was doing so poorly). Just sad!!

I was laid off after almost 20 years with this company.

There is no consideration for loyalty or hard work, they just need to show their stockholders that they are cutting costs. It was a cruel, humiliating experience.

Who in their right mind would return after being fired, like that?

Maybe the same ones who would keep working on the sinking ship.

They called me to come back after a few months. Pay cut of $5 from what I was making and no benefits, which I had before they chopped my head off.

I was the receiving manager. My store manager called about two weeks after I was fired. Ask me to come back said receiving was a mess. I laughed into the phone and hung up on him.

I know that 3 from my store did. And another reapplied and was turned down.

Anyone who subjected them selves to such humiliation must have no self-esteem.
