Schlifske has invested his whole legacy on the new planning experience being the cure-all for the fact that permanent life insurance is a dinosaur product. The company needs a major shakeup. The most insular head in the sand company I ever encountered. They actually take pride in having lunch with each other. It’s a prison with respect to strategic, customer focused and creative thought.
Schlifski thinks technology will solve every issue. I don’t know if Schlifske is able to retain enough quality financial reps, but for the past 2 years he’s been offshoring every job possible and laying off home office employees with deep knowledge of the company and tech systems. He also wasted $250 million thinking LearnVest was going to help accelerate company growth and spent $450 million on a new office tower in downtown Milwaukee. Technology is only a facilitator, it's the people that give the company a fighting chance.
