Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Question on criteria

Does anyone know the criteria used to decide who was terminated? They let go of a Haltiwanger Award winner so I'm not sure how they decided.

Love hearing about the frenzied phone calls going out to the younger, less expensive people to fill the exact positions they just vacated. No interviews needed!

Good luck running BTS with little knowledge among those left and even fewer resources.

“@nhj, think there was more than one affected, but that’s all I can say, need to figure out the rest yourself. as you pointed out, there are only a few. revealing a location can hurt those affected. they have enough on their plate, they don’t need things from this forum board appearing on google search when their potential new employer does a background check.”

That’s a foolish and untrue statement. 1) Their potential new employer will already know they were terminated if the employee is asked and answers honestly. 2) Background checks - unless with a government agency - don’t dig into online forums with vague references to location and initials. It’s just publishing; not national security. Be realistic.

ANYONE on a high horse at Pearson is a total twerp. This company is a joke.

Pay is a joke. Mgmt Vision is a joke. Job security is a joke. (Fake) Sentiment from management about their reports is a joke.

Did I miss anything?

It’s comical how many vapid people updated their LinkedIn today to Strategic Account Executive. Those tapped have never had an original thought in their entire lives.

You can't chop high salaries and STILL protect old PH colleagues. They coexist.

That said, I know a few really talented people - Top Performers, LC members, Developing Leaders, etc - who were let go and ended up interviewing again with Pearson only to get swept aside by less talented, cheaper salespeople. Pathetic.

The criteria is definitely odd. Who was the GH award winner who was let go? There are only a few.

If Santa Clause or Mother Teresa were on staff, they would have laid them off. There was no criteria or processes. It's a disgusting organization and folks working there should hang their heads low. What's even sadder are the customers that remain loyal to them despite flawed technology and ridiculous pricing.
