and I say boy do I say again, “ Do you enjoy DAR?”
If the post in here by Rajeev Suri is truly from him, then Sir you truly dont know whats going on in this company. ALL information is filtered at each level. By the time it gets to you, its all magical fairies in the forest. The processes in most of the company is whats holding Nokia back. Then there is almost no processes being used in the Small Cell organization. We are going through the various release gates and products are being pushed through that cant pass testing. One of the questions asked is "will it show up in compliance testing?" The dates are number one, not even if the product works. We have high attrition and cant replace anyone. I thought this new 5G/mmWave product line was important to the company. You tell us to discuss things with our immediate Line Managers? Why, so we could be the next on the hit list? The Line Managers have been in survival mode for so long that they wont send anything up the chain. Really the next guy up the chain is the biggest problem. All these issues started when he took over Small Cell and now he is in charge of all of 5G. This will end with the demise of all of Mobile Networks. So, Rajeev, please take your head out of the sand and go visit Naperville. Get all the Engineers into an auditorium, ask all Line managers to leave, then get the real story about whats going on.
This company is so ethical it makes you work the weekends (in USA) with no pay.
This is a place where engineers go to die. If you are looking at this post then you know this to be true. Best of luck and may the layoff be quick.
Main problem is manager doesn't know how to manage the project or the team. No appreciation or respect for team members. Worst manager in the history of Nokia.
I am happy to have taken my frozen pension money and retired. The company thinks US workers are overpaid garbage.
If you're considering where to work, I would suggest picking a different industry. The equipment providers are under constant pressure to cut costs. There are only a handful of big contracts each year in each region and we have to bid very low to get them. If you're not in sales, you're a cost to be reduced.
Nokia s---s. No time to do anything but pump out sh--ty products. They dont give time to do any advanced development or to increase our skills/knowledge. We work like dogs. Literally working around 60 hrs per week between home and office. We literally have around $300million of 5G products in the field that doesnt work. Even if we get some new stuff out, we will have to replace all the units in the field. Nokia wont realize products for years. The new guy in charge of all 5G is truly ruining the entire company.
Not at all
I use to when it wasn't Nokia. Constant layoffs.
No, I do not like working for Nokia. Just waiting for the pension and severance.
