Thread regarding University of Alaska Fairbanks layoffs

Maybe Alaskans don't care enough?

And why aren't people in the streets? Why aren't the unions and students protesting and demanding that Governor Dunleavy be removed? I know United Academics did a little, but did they do enough, given the magnitude of the cuts?

Has the economy been so bad for so long that people don't care? If so, look for more unemployment, more store closings, more foreclosures, higher insurance and interest rates. Last one out the door turn off the lights?

@ZPWsVnu-1jug, those are strong words. I wonder how many other Alaskans agree with you.

No, Dahn...REAL "thinking Alaskans" don't care about overpaid academics milking the public for decades finally taking a fall for their extravagant salaries and associated narcissistic disorder driving them to consider they're "owed" a living for their "intellect" and political bent vs. teaching excellence. We celebrate overpaid elites at "Backwater U" getting a lesson in the inadvisability of languishing as students-for-life in a fast-paced world now demanding performance for advancement.
