Rumors are swirling about another RIFF.

I thought this site might be useful but its really just an embarrassment to the hard working employees of this company
Get ready boys and girls. This coming week. They usually RIF people on Wednesdays or thursdays or both.
@4whu+ZQLpeEX You are exactly who went our lists submitted for our next couple of RIFs.
LOL @ZQLpeEX-adho. You think it matters much if you do a great job or a terrible job in regards to getting RIF'd? Some terrific performers have been let go. Some awful performers have been let go. Some average performers have been let go. It does not matter about personal performance. It's about the numbers and politics. Intrado execs gotta hit those numbers for Apollo so Apollo can pay the debt bill. You gotta also ensure you stay out of legal trouble as you cut people to hit those numbers. Lawsuits are expensive. They hurt the numbers.
I know previously it was thought July 23rd could be the next lay off. Any word?
Hey ZQLpeEX-b-ng, I’m doing just that, currently a manager plus utilize time while working here to build my personal company. I show up on this site to encourage others to take advantage because this company does that in return to many... IE: simply look at what they taken away in terms of benefits, pto, etc.
Any idea where they are at now percentage wise?
What West/Intrado is doing is laying off employees and replacing some of them with off-shore employees. Evidently the industry standard is 30% off-shore employees, so the goal is to meet or exceed that. percentage.
Instead of showing up the layoffs thread to complain about your coworkers' job performance, why not become a manager or better yet start your own company?
you act like they are just throwing darts and firing whoever it lands on. Of course they are going to keep laying off until their finances look they way the want to, and that might mean some good employees get let go at some point. If you do a sh– job, you'll be moving yourself up the list to be let go. Not to mention your colleagues probably aren't going to have many good things to say about you if your next employer starts calling references. And none of this is to say everyone single person here shouldn't be keeping an eye out for a new job... because you should. But that doesn't mean you should just do a sh– job, piss everyone you work with off, and accelerate your firing.
None of these statements or viewpoints matter because the investors within Apollo will come calling for their return on investment. That’s what Apollo does best and you all will face that aspect real soon. Work hard or hardly work makes no difference to these investors because it’s all about the cash and that’s what make the world go round 💵🏦💰
I know before i left, the teams had gotten so large that managing them was near impossible. They tried to offload some the responsibility to the team leads, but even they had problems keeping things under control.
The lay offs in our office were poor performers. Maybe there are managers out there "padding" their employees reviews so they look better. In the end they still know who the weaker employees are. They will find the lazy ones!
You make it sound like these people didn't have managers. As if the manager stood by and let them get away with doing nothing. You probably don't understand why they're doing layoff after layoff but you are sort of blindly shilling for their actions. Maybe you'll end up working there by yourself, you can be the only employee that does work. If you work around the clock and they only have to pay one employee I am sure they would go for that. Go you.
opposite here, they got rid of some producing salespeople and kept the ones who didn't sell anything
The people I know that were laid off recently were the people not doing anything all day or doing a poor job. So yeah, keep doing nothing. They know who you are.
Well said @ZQLpeEX-8kpt Some of us stay, because financially we don't have a choice. We have families!
"Doing nothing" is undoubtedly what a lot of people here will be doing initially as the company goes nuts and lays everyone off. There is no doubt that there are some bad seeds but If you blame the employees in general for the company getting rich by tossing them out, you're not paying attention to what is really going on. I would venture a guess that many people reading these threads dream about doing good and rewarding work instead of working for a pack of thugs who spend every waking moment figuring out who gets pushed off the cliff next. Apollo will nail you and then laugh about it all the way to the bank.
I thought this site could be useful when I first found it but most of you on here just want to get paid for doing nothing.
If you go by business quarters, you're most likely to get laid off mid Feb to late March, mid May to late June, mid August to late September, and mid November to late December.
So that only leaves January, April, July and October as "safe" months. If you suddenly lose another major client though, that could force them to make a sudden off-schedule layoff.
At this point though, who the hell knows.
West/Intrado is actively looking every day for ways to kick your ash out the door. Anyone with any sense should do the bare minimum here. If you feel you should work hard, you need to do that hard work for someone less hostile than these vultures.
I'm doing the very least I can... why not. If management ignores it and they score me high on reviews, good for me. Can't imagine why folks would leave this gold mine of freedom. I keep a low profile, turn in barely acceptable work, work from home - really not do any work as I watch tv or fix my house, take super long smoke/lunch breaks, etc. This is the life of Riley!
I just match the behavior from my manager and above, most whom work on their second personal business, I'm doing the same. Get paid twice but while at work! You won't see me leave this gig. I can hide-n-lie and keep them fooled, a master of this art.
Wonder why areas of the company are going downhill....noone cares and people are satisfied with doing the absolute minimum each day!! I applaud those who feel a sense of pride in doing nothing all day and getting paid for it!!
@ZQLpeEX-3jjc sounds like you have it pretty easy! This isn't a few bad apples. I have personally watched coworkers that work hard day in and day out be let go. Everyday we wonder if our area will be hit again. Reality is that another RIF is likely. Hopefully those on the internet are looking for jobs. It does sound like your area is pretty typical of some management, they don't care about anything.
What in the world, I just started my job last month and made aware of this website. Are things that bad working for this employer or just a few upset apples trying to rattle cages with their viewpoints?
So far my new director allows me to work from home moreover then having to be in the office. Plus allows me to work the hours of my choice. I’ve even taken a few pto days without officially having to enter them. Heck, lunch break time is so loose on days I’m in office, I just cruse through doing barely the minimum. Does anyone else have it the same?
I see many surf the web freely with a few nodding off (heavy lunch) at times but nothing gets said so it must be acceptable.
I have a friend in an area that all vacation has been closed from 7/23-end of month due to business needs.
Did they get West Point? Any reports of anyone actually being laid off this week?
How many people are left in West Point?
What is the relevance of 7/23/2019?
Gonna go ahead and call it - it'll happen 7/23/19
I think the 8% refers to the Health Advocate business segment only pulling in 8% of total revenue for all of West Corp (or INTRADO I mean...)
If you're really chomping at the bit running around like a maniac wondering if it's this week or next week please just get a new job. I promise you, the next job will give you a paycheck. If you're guarding your current paycheck like a little sack of nuts maybe look around and wonder where your neighbors went. You and your paycheck are on the chopping block. Always. Apollo didn't forget about you or your paycheck. You think they changed the name of the company because it was a another great sign of a wonderful future? The truck is on the way to empty the rest of the dumpster.
What’s the 8%?
Would they conduct layoffs on a holiday week? Or would they wait until next week or maybe even end of the month.
I can see it being the 8%
Even if it's only rumors as of now, can you please expand on this a bit? Which location(s) are rumored to be affected? Which departments or lines of business? I just want to be prepared if necessary.
Is the West Point location affected?
What locations?? Omaha??
