Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Why is Aruba doing so bad ?

Aruba wireless has been losing market share for over a year.

Its behind on both 802.11ax ("gen 6") and cloud management.

Execs provided a lame "sales execution" excuse in

post earnings analyst conference.

For the first time ever, total networking revenue is down year over year.

What's really going on ?

H3C ? The sale happened 4 years ago and Aruba kept growing revenue since.

Something else is happening. When you pay any software engineer with 5 years experience $60K sign up bonus to join Aruba, something is wrong.

Loss of H3C revenue without a complete porfolio behind it, more to networking than wireless campus edge. Understand US Govt and others not buying Chinese but other partnerships mucked up

Cisco/Meraki is taking market share away from Aruba and so are others.

Aruba employees are treated well relative to HPE standards but it ain't enough.

Same c-appy benefit package, RSUs and bonuses.

Cisco is doing a much better job at keeping key acquisitions independent and structuring incentives in such away to minimize churn. Stock performance (Cisco/others) over last 4-5 years didn't hurt either.

What is wrong with using Apple MacBooks? The entire HPE employee population should have the choice of what PC they get issued for work.

Cisco is a formidable competitor and they have amped up their sales tactics, and that is probably the reason for reduced revenue last qtr.
