Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

INTERNAL SECRET SHOPPERS, let's make B&N even more fun!!

So now the company is doing its own secret shopping to weed out people who can't perform in a short-staffed, miserable environment. And to go after long-term employees who are making too much money.

Good luck with your scores and finding a new job!

“While I can readily understand the idea of quitting with no notice, I would advise against it, particularly if you've put in a lot of time with the company. Doing so can seriously come back to bite you in the rear-end.”

I concur. However, I must say I do like doing unto BN as they’ve done to so many!

While this would normally be my stand, as well. Pretty soon there’ll be no BN to contact for a reference! 😉😳😂

Besides, there ain't nothing better in life than that two-week notice.

"All the managers from ever dept. don't even give 2 weeks notice now, they just quit."

The Store manager at one of the NY stores did just that. Just quit, no notice, nothing.

Later they started a rumour he was fired for stealing, but I don't believe it. After all the BS this company has put people through, I can imagine people just leaving in a huff.

“Our store can't keep anyone anymore. All the managers from ever dept. don't even give 2 weeks notice now, they just quit. ”

SMART people!

Getting out before their thrown out.

BN Wouldn’t give them notice. Good for them.

Our store can't keep anyone anymore. All the managers from ever dept. don't even give 2 weeks notice now, they just quit. Customers tell me now, this used to be a pleasant place, now everyone seems miserable.

If corporate put as much thought and time into improving customer service & treating their employees like they matter,as they do trying to figure out how to get rid of you ,maybe the company would be salvageable.

“If you are written up with a shop that you know you didn’t do ( what you’re accused of!) DO NOT SIGN IT! And you can NOT be let go over hearsay.... DEMAND to confront the person who LIED about you !”

GREAT ADVICE! Because I GUARANTEE many will be “shopped” by management to be gotten rid of !

Also ,demand to see the CCTV to see who “shopped” you !

These bogus mystery shops are the next lay-off wave... Sites like this are preventing a one fell swoop lay-off like February 2018.

They’ll pay someone to secretly critique you-to get rid of you. To save money.

Does that tell you what you’re worth to those people?!

Wise up and get out before you’re treated like they treated the thousands last year.

And if they want you gone.

They’ll make stuff up on the secret shop.

If you’re in their sights, they’ll do ANYTHING to fire you.

This will be how they conduct the next round of “layoffs”.

Been warning you hangers for a long time now. If you haven’t listened, don’t complain when your thrown out.
