Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

To my fellow CDK'ers...do you know what your strategy is?

It seems as though that we know that there is going to be significant investment in Fortellis and Drive Flex. Shouldn't the rest of us be working towards supporting those efforts? Does everyone else feel like we are just waiting around, working on stuff willy nilly with not clear direction? We have a bunch of VP leaders who can't or are unwilling to make decisions because they are trying to save their own butts, and as a result, their "senior" directors are on the same boat, and behave the same way. The point of being a leader is to make decisions. You get to that place by putting your neck out there. It feels like our engineering leadership is flat out posturing for the new guy. Look..you got here for a reason. Get off your a-- and do something. The rest of us are waiting here, ready to set sail.

Why stay?? What in the history of cdk makes anyone think it’ll be a good career decision to stay? I get if your hostage because of a Visa but the job market is booming and in the US. The stock options even at the VP level aren’t competitive enough to make up for the instability and toxic culture

If any body really believes that the smoke and mirrors, lipstick on a pig Flex replacement for Drive is going to save this company they're completely smoking the wrong smoke.

Flex is a joke, and without replacing the ancient code that was written before any of the current developers were even a dream in their parent's eyes, it will never gain market traction.

It's amazing how this company has always swung up and down.. First "Great things are happening!", We are all connected.. yada yada yada… then... "Radio Silence".... everyone waits for the next "direction" the Company is going... it's actually quite hilarious... The people in charge of this company have always seemed to be junior leaguers...

In the past, I worked for a company, that the employees mattered, you have an idea? doesn't matter if you're the guard or the prisoner... you were rewarded... you were recognized... you were driven to do it again... and again... because you meant something to the company. My "Supervisor" knew when people were, "needing a break"... Take a day off.. on me.. you need it... we'll cover for you. Never ONCE has that ever happened to me at this joint. And I can PROMISE you.. it would have been well deserved. The CEO once came to our office and sat in my chair. Wanted to see what I was working on. Wanted to talk about your family, your hobbies, whatever. Sure, it was small talk, but it was genuine. A company with over 5000 employees. For a moment, was one of the "guys". looked you in the eyes in the hall.. or in the mall. Because you mattered. This place? Ha! Don't make me laugh. They wouldn't give you the time of day.

I'll step down now... I feel my mask is slipping off. Sorry to get off topic... but in response to the "strategy"? When you work in a position that takes "$h!+" and makes "shinola" out of it... there' not much strategy involved.

If you're not on Flex or Fortellis you should be looking for another job. I'm not trying to scare you but read the writing on the wall.
