So this happened on Wednesday, all people in a room, security guards all over the place, and then it all started, meeting one by one with everyone's manager to know if you will continue or not, we heard about 150-200, that is for sure more than 50% of cloud Costa Rica

How many people work(ed) at this center?
Costa Rica managed our GACDW so hopefully that tool is dumped as well.
Costa Rica had staff support Managed Applications (SAP/Oracle) / Cloud Managed Services (CMS). This function acquired ATT and Verizon hosting businesses in 2017. The IBM heritage part of this function was wiped out - including some people in Costa Rica - in favor of holding on to the ATT and Verizon legacy people. It did not matter that ATT and Verizon business were complete messes and financially broken. The IBM legacy DPEs and PEs were all taken out in total - full departments.
Nobody in the US will cry about that. Kinda nice to hear that the lost cost c-ap countries are getting hit too!
delete from IBM where BU like 'Cloud%' or BU like 'Cognitive%'
GO
IBM Cognitive *, doesn't look good
I guess this all has to do with money laundring and pumping staff retirement funds into a tanking stock...IMBS to be exact
I hear Cognitive BlockCloud is the next big thing.
If you bought the strategic imperative line IBM spewed then you need a lobotomy.
So much for "offshoring" PCI confidential information to countries with unknown security standards, if any.
So cloud is no longer a strategic imperative! Gee, maybe Watson? .. (no that is "AI" now)... What is left? Certainly not "our people are our most valuable asset" of the good 'ol days, when IBM actually grew revenue, profits, and share price!
