Red hat people, you may think you're safe, but the first year revenue stumbles, the absorption will start. It'll begin by moving to common benefits, then common salary bands and other hr practices, then aligned development processes, and finally integrating the bones of your org with the big blue zombie.

And so it begins. Red Hat Culture is being destroyed from within. Leadership roles are being filled with yes people & top down managers from EMC, Net App, Cisco, HP, etc. The true Red Hatters who had been responsible for what IBM wanted, are leaving.
The first thing we noticed was how unqualified the Red Hat sellers are. We're scrambling to get them into client meetings. You can't have SDR and Inside Sales reps with minimal experience trying to sell complex solutions. There is a new Hybrid Cloud team being created to absorb the Red Hat GTM efforts. The rest will remain as is.
The mediocre people will stay, the good ones, will be "rescued" or start new companies...
Its absolutely fine. Because if that happens - all the Red Hatters can just leave IBM and start Blue Hat. Because Red Hat has no IP. None. Its the people so if IBM blew its wad on people and then they leave IBM will be leave holding an empty bag.
