Somebody said in another thread there will be layoffs today. Has this been confirmed?

Layoffs will likely happen after the earnings report on June 25th. Now that Huawei is sanctioned a workforce reduction is inevitable. Just remember who cost you your job the next time you're in the voting booth.
Talked more with friend who was given a heads up. They said if it’s not starting this week it’ll likely be part of the quarterly reviews, as an attempt to mask the layoffs as firing for “poor performance”, but neither of us know for sure other than it’s coming up soon.
The rumor I heard whole departments are going away. More outsourcing to become the norm for the future of Micron. Line the pockets of the upper management while the regular employee pays the price.
If the 18% statistic is true then there needs to be a class action lawsuit against Micron for not properly reporting it. It would be a layoff of at least 1,080 people, and they’re legally required to notify the general public of layoffs exceeding 500. Unfortunately, Micron won’t be held accountable unless employees start a suit against them for not warning them of the mass lay-off:
Rumor is they want 18% of the Boise site gone, either through voluntary retirements or involuntary layoffs.
Sorry, I’m not comfortable being more specific. I really wish I could say more, because I fully understand any anxiety you’re feeling (it’s why I’m checking this site too). I just wanted to confirm that at least one other person had heard there could be layoffs in the coming days.
Does your friend work in Boise? Can you be more specific say location, group, or area?
I’m not the other person who mentioned the lay-off, but I also heard there was going to be one sometime in the next week or so. A friend was personally warned they would be part of the lay-off so they could prepare. They’re expecting either tomorrow or Friday.
If there is going to be one history shows it will be after a quarterly anouncement.
Nothing you can do about it so why worry!
