Word on the street is Timonium site will be gone by the end of 2020. No projects dated out past that with the transfer to Synchrony.
The layoff was careless and impulsive. They didn't even know who would be available to take on all the work that was left. Glad Im gone, it made me realize that there is better out there for me. It did for me what I wouldn't have done for myself for probably years.
How can a company treat its employee like this? I just joined Paypal for four months and was terminated without any warning. No one in their right mind should join this company who does not follow any of its HR policy to develop its employees. All lies
Hope the incompetent "leaders" who are responsible for this mess to start are held accountable. It's shameful they get to stay
Some layoffs in London as well
Managers in Compliance Omaha had the choice to either take a severance or reapply for their jobs. Most left.
It seems like PayPal in Omaha is replacing its male employees with women, if you're a woman you're safe if you're a man you're probably in trouble.
I just wish I left this place years ago, now my wife will have to support me for a little bit before I find a new job if PayPal lays me off.
Next week we have ALL HANDS meetings so time will tell what happens in those meetings.
To the person directly below: in my BU, these "talent template" meetings did happen. Sounds like the leaders weren't consistent about them across the org, but my leadership did, even though some of them already had 1 foot out the door.
Verbatim text from the VP's below . These meetings never happened and then the layoffs - Dishonest leadership -
Every single member of our team will have the benefit of a dedicated meeting in the next four weeks for you to discuss your aspirations with a marketing leader in our team. We are committed to giving everyone in our team an opportunity to put their hand up and express interest in new roles and new areas within our teams. In addition, as we map people to roles in our new team, we want to understand your how you want to build your marketing career to help inform our decision making. To facilitate this, our request is that you fill out the attached talent template, which we’ll use also use as a discussion guide when we meet with you. More details to follow on how and where to submit your talent profile, but for now, you’ll find the template attached for you to get started.
I heard they called a woman who was on her honeymoon in Italy and laid her off over the phone. She was in the Timonium office.
Yep, new Marketing Ops VP resigned after 2-3 grinding months under new CMO. Learned that today AFTER I was laid off (I was in his greater org). Not impressed. Stock is soaring, our small team was busier than ever. WTF?
I heard the new data VP resigned, and that layoffs in France were coming but are currently delayed bc of labor laws. Does anyone else know anything about other regions?
This is so messed up. New CMO and VPs for months have been saying there wouldn't be layoffs, and a lot more opportunities world be opening up. Managers weren't told, no reorg announcements. People of all levels/tenure were affected. It was brutal. Yet the stock keeps surging and our small and mighty team has been busier than ever. I'm upset, as one that's been cut.
Account managers in Omaha and compliance department lost people
Today was a m---acre for North American Marketing. A huge number of people I collaborate with on a daily basis are gone with no warning, across many teams and business units. No idea what will happen next or how we're planning to proceed with a significantly smaller workforce.
Heard globally 250 were cut
1 sales team gone in Omaha.
Anything happening in the regions?
Layoffs in Timonium, New York, Boston
Lots of layoffs in San Jose too.
