clothing, cleaning up after theses people that have to take a shirt from the bottom stack and then just toss it or wad it up. Finding half eaten food on the clothes or drinks . They yank down your displays ,dump everything that they decided they didn't want in the dept. Also all the open and stolen stuff they try to hide end's up in clothing. Then they also tear open packages of t-shirts,underwear,almost impossible to repackage. They talk on there cell phones so they only have 1 hand to pick shirt's up and talk guess that's there excuse for tearing up every dam table in the dept. They can shop it messy because were not there maids to run around after them and clean up. Just have to walk away sometimes and vent.

Probably Maintenance - they get zero respect and they do hard work.

If any of them reads this - thank you for all the hard work you do for our store

1owt--I totally agree with you. It is horrible how people are so ugly how they don't care how they flip the clothes upside down on purpose. Managers and other associates as well have no idea how time consuming it is to fold all tables. You literally have to take all clothes off table in order to fold it. We should have 2 people closing every night in softlines especially on weekends.

Meat cutters. Everyone, including our closing associates, thinks we just stand in front of a table all day playing with knives. But how many closing associates take the time and effort to re-wrap bloody packages? Time and members abuse the product and nobody cares in our building as much as we do. Considering there are only two of us at my club, if one of us calls in (we dont unless we are really really sick), it shuts down production and people really start panicking. But because we do show up every day, nobody feels the pressure. And because we're efficient, our managers mostly think we don't need more cutters (we could honestly use at least another full-timer). God help us if one of us leaves, it would take 2 people to make up for one of us.

Assistant Manager (the good ones, which are few and far between).

Your associates despise you and believe you're actively trying to find ways to undermine them and get rid of them. They assume you know everything about everything and when you claim you don't, you're obviously lying. Your peers are always looking to find ways to make you look bad to the Club Manager so they can win favor and spare themselves any grief or an unfavorable schedule. Members expect you to give them the world and if you don't, they'll call corporate and get what they want anyway, so you're lose-lose. Your Market Manager will smile to your face and tell you that you're doing a good job only to tell the Club Manager something different. You're never putting in enough time (even though you typically work 12-16 hours a day) and when you do you're told it's because your departments are falling apart due to your lack of leadership even though you've already asked your associates to go well above and beyond. Eventually you quit for another job or step down to an hourly role because you realize what a horrible mistake you made thinking that what you've done to get to this position made a difference, when in reality your promotion was just a check mark on a Club Manager's evaluation and your existence is just to provide your Club Manager with his or her preferred days off.

Couldn’t agree more your not the only one feeling this way. There’s days I think why even bother, the more hours you give the less they appreciate it.

Maintenance people, We have to clean up after all you slobs. Members, associates and managers . Between women and mens restroom, womens is the worst. Im sure your bathrooms at home arent that bad. In my store we keep the café clean, wash tables , sweep and take out trash. At times we had full time maintenance associate in café 8 hours a day and still couldn`t keep up. Just venting, I feel better now.

I’m a 20+er and my original GM once asked us at a morning meeting, “Whose job is the most important”? He expected everyone to say “My job is”. And if everyone had that attitude there wouldn’t be any LAZY people.

Club Manager , without a doubt esp if you work for one of the incompetent and mentally ill Market Managers. There are many. It’s too brutal to get into in this forum

receiving is a very misunderstood job..at least night receiving at our club is. You literally are on the run from the moment you clock in til the moment you clock out. No matter how much you have to do you well know what abandonment is.

That said I can see that most jobs at Sams are thankless and have very undesirable aspects to them.

I can see that being an assistant might have its down falls but 99 percent of managers do retaliate and have favorites and have it out for some workers. I do not feel real sorry for them. Be honest and dont treat us like bird dung and they would be more respected.

I hope the whiny night lead on here is the one from my club. If so you deserve little thanks. You are a threatening , bullying , lying , conniving , insulting , gossiping , harassing, belittling , self righteous individual and should have been out of a job many years ago.

Carts by far. If anyone really thinks they have it bad goes be a cart guy for a week and you will be begging to come back in. And a close second would be the person who gets to fold clothes every day.

Closing Center Section Associates. They walk in to 8 hours of little to no zoning in clothing. Clothing is like a bad neighborhood that needs constant police presence or almost everyone thinks it’s ok to dig deep down in the stacks of clothes for what they need. Most people want to be nice, but some care only about that size 20 seersucker crops. I love each and every associate in my area and thank them so much. We love you and Wil do so much for u!
