The following statement is just such bullshit. If you are an EE or ME and have been with Purcell Systems from at least the first four years, the following statement, found on the Purcell Systems web site, is a total lie:
"Purcell Systems strives to find energetic people that want to make a significant contribution to providing exceptional products and service."
Engineering as practicum? Not at all. Jockeying SoldWorks like a video game and pumping out defective BOMs, CAD models, AND no assembly or product documentation, well, as a lifestyle. The SAP integration is a huge joke and wherever SAP ERP process deficits lay no formal manual process steps in. Why oh why would anyone use SAP?
Purcell Systems had two good technical writers (cabinet manuals) since 2007 and some documentation specialists (assembly manuals). Both technical writers are gone. They forced one to resign in early 2010 and he was better at CAD and quality than any of the engineers. The last good technical writer left in late Summer 2012 for a better, much higher paying job. They both are good folks.
I obviously did not know what mechanical or electrical design in usually aluminum sheet metal is at Purcell Systems. Is it okay to route RF HT cables next to the AC power cable ingress? My gauss meter says no. As well as GR-487 (Telcordia), an inconvenience largely ignored by the founding Purcell Systems engineers. Much like the ISO certification "illusion" played out on the ISO auditors every few months.
