Baxter said today that the suspension of shipments of certain products led to its decision to eliminate over ninety positions at Baxter Medina plant.
It was also stated that almost 400 employees will continue to work at the Orleans County facility (according to John Omalley, a company spokesman).
Baxter said the layoffs stem from the company’s decision in April to suspend shipping Sigma Spectrum infusion pumps to new customers while it works with the Food and Drug Administration “to address modifications made to the device.”
