Thread regarding Avnet Inc. layoffs

I recently was fortunate enough to be part of the "Big" Avnet Lay Off. I always went above and beyond to get the job done, it wasn't enough. When they walked me into their big office, all I got was the company line, "Your job is being eliminated" and a couple of pieces of useless Avnet propaganda.(Just them covering their @$$, not helping me at all) I don't think the HR Rep has a clue how to do his job, he said, "Just call unemployment and ask....." So after 10+ years of loyalty, they are so worried about themselves that they refuse to treat people with any dignity. A totally impersonal experience. At first I was sad, now I'm glad to finally get out of there and get on with my life.
