With prices dropping, should we be concerned right now

The oil bust is fun to watch....all these companies crying.......
"We expect that the market will have a significant oversupply of rigs through the remainder of the year and well into 2016," Chief Executive Marc Edwards said.
Rig contractor Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc said it expected a significant number of ultra-deepwater rigs to be idled across the industry by year-end as oil producers' capital budget is likely to be lowered by a fifth this year.
when you read stuff like this, is a scary situation. No matter where in the world you call home, it effects us all.
Some of the sharpest guys that have been working with Diamond were laid off. They were some of the best hands conceivable, working over their shift 2 or 3 hours every single day and not writing overtime down, just for the love of their jobs. Those of us that were in the Brazilian field are being run off and displaced by Europeans and Brazilian nationals. Look where the CEO is from....if he were American would he be standing up for those of us that sing about the amber waves of grain?
We all know that things will pick back up at some point. We all know that hard times in the oil patch are common.. when it booms it booms big and when it busts it busts big. It is bad the way companies all over go about their layoffs, but there is really no easy way to do it.. The company does what it has to do to survive the down turn and thats their job. This idea that we are more important than the other guy is outrageous. Now days companies use things like this to do a bit of house cleaning. Get rid of some of those guys who just wont retire, even though they are way past their prime, and to bring up younger people who they will get many more years out of. Just something to think about.
It is just like any other business, profit is #1.. Its about the money make for stock holders, whom without you would have never had the job to began with
Forget trucks and toys for sale half the houses in South Alabama will be on the market next week. Happens when you live beyond your means.
You know i hope in 3 months oil is $200 a barrel and gas is $5 a gallon. I also hope dame drilling companies can not find anybody to go to work.

Gave my life to this company and and got kicked to curb. got a phone call that said sorry to inform you but we no longer need you. no thank you, kiss my ass or anything. New CEO ant worth shit...never would have happened with ol larry in there.
Some people just think they are the best the company has, and when they find out they are get the boot its upsetting. This is the nature of the oil field. Learn to live with it or get out....oh you were laid off so you are out.

Funny thing is new hires in same job are staying. Not sure the thinking behind this but I am just a rig hand.... Out with the old and in with the new I guess.
