What are your thoughts on the topic. If yes, what groups, locations, positions might be in jeopardy?

layoff started in Sigma Aldrich (by Merck ) since august 2017.
So...when are the layoffs happening? April 1?
You miss the old CEO? You hope he does't feel sorry for leaving SIAL behind? Fear no more, he found a new home:

Say congratulations to him, he can now sell the next company :)
This question can be answered now: yes, there will be layoffs and layoffs already have happened. Rakesh and some others are gone. Well, they "landed on their feet" according to the news and they got enough money so they won't look back.
St.Louis will be hit as soon as jobs are relocated to Boston and with the announcement of L3 in the hierarchy it is now 100% clear that St.Gallen will be shut down. Anyone who is interested and gets an offer can move to Darmstadt, the rest, well, can't. The situation in other sites without production (e.g. Taufkirchen) is unknown but I am pretty sure most of the functions will be relocated to the headquarter.
Think Rakesh Sachdew will be pretty sacked Together with glorification in financial forums and a ton of money so he can move on and destroy some other company.
anything posted would be speculation...and fear. Why spend that kind of money to tear a productive company apart?
Couldn't happen to a better company.
It seems to me that from seeing how many people that have viewed this no one has any balls to comment.
