I can't believe that UTI was able to but off this site and kill Going, Going, gone and the entire thread. It is very sad that UTI does not want to hear the truth about themselves and their miss management. UTI is pathetic.

Once again the same old thing is happening of them not backing up instructors, after they told us they were going to. More lip service. Students being disrespectful , and a history of doing this and they get 70% and back in the same class. We'll all this tells me is heck with it let them get away with murder and look they other way. If their late o-well .The product coming out of this program is garbage, between the curriculum and the students. I'm going to try to ride it out for a few years, till I can't stand it anymore then hang it up. These students are going to get a real dose of reality with their behavior and attitude when they get out in the field and don't last one day. Have a Great UTI Day

So apparently one of my posts has been deleted the one with the facebook page i created, so home office is looking at these posts. under law we have the right to try to organise with out being targeted. so here I go again go to face book and look for "unionize thranch" send a friend request and we can discuss in private how we can help ourselfs and our families. remeber there is strength in numbers we need to unite and tell home office where they can stick there bonuses. remeber we are the ones doing the work we deserve the money not home office! I saw that some of my posts have been pulled again. The one where I told one of the posters that the reason that UTI instructors don't fix cars after class because they can't but that it because they don't want to because there is never any reward for doing so. It doesn't matter how hard you work because the only thing that affects your raises and reviews are pass/fail numbers and student evaluations. So all anyone does is just push students through regardless of whether they know anything or not. Teach the test tell them exactly what to write on their labs don't mark them late and as long as you get signatures on the roll sheet who cares where they are. Push them through, keep them happy and you will receive a pathetic raise. OH and we will take away your 401K because Cranston needs the money. Thelayoff.com please don't remove our voices anymore. We are dying and need someone to listen to us. Everything I have said is the truth or my opinions.

How is this happening to us?? Does Kim and the board think so little of us that we are just not worth anything? Maybe Kim saying that it is the boards fault because "They demand" their returns. Maybe it is just Kim deciding that we are useless. This has broken my spirit and my drive to help UTI is dead right now. I feel like screw it just do as little as possible and suck up as much money as I can until we fold. DAMN YOU KIM!!!! You are just an evil bitch who only cares about herself and her friends. OK are you thinking about that? Remember Cranston, who was never at work, gloated to other employees that he could never be fired and could come and go as he pleases without a care in the world? What about Sherrill Smith and his domestic problems? Well on the internet I found out that both of them received over 600,000.00 in bonuses for 2014. Not their salary but their bonuses!!!!!! How come they get bonuses when WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS ILLEGAL FOR US TO RECEIVE BONUSES ACCORDING TO STUDENT RETENTION!!!!! How in the hell are they getting that when our company is DYING???? We all killed ourselves last year and were rewarded with "We wish it could be bigger but times are hard right now."

Well friends it has been awhile but I do have some information that will piss you all off. I found some information but before I get into that I want you to remember back to last year and how freaking hard you worked, the crappy shifts, students being sent back to class after they disrespected you without an apology or explanation from management, how your soul was shredded because you again had to push a bunch of students through the program that did not comprehend the information, how you kind of felt like that was stealing from your students because you are just setting them up for failure, how you had to kiss so much management butt for fear of being terminated or maybe you had a student lie and try and get you fired but then they just put that student back in your class as IF YOU DON'T EVEN MATTER. Then thing about your raise where it came to 800.00 dollars for the entire year.

This is a reply to 67130, you really want a UTI instructor to work for you at a shop, good luck with that. Remember those who cant do teach, Crazy mo fo stated it best, 70% couldn't fix a car if their life depended on it. I would start naming the instructors but they will pull the posts again. For those of you that can fix cars, you know who the others are that cant. Maybe UTI should make the instructors fix a car as part of the hiring process, most of them would not have a job. I Agree that we are trying to educate a bunch of them above their intelligence level. What I don't understand is why we supposedly can't have an entrance exam. We are told it's because they pay to go here. If that's true look at the colleges, they have a entrance exam and receive federal funding for the students. Is this another uti lie ?

The students for the most part are a bunch of lazy entitled bunch of little brats and needed mommy and daddy to give them a swift kick in the pants a long time ago. There are a few who are going to be good techs but they're few and far between, these are the ones that make us keep trying. If they really cared about the education then maybe they should start teaching up to date curriculum. Let's hope we get a decent raise this year since the one last year wasn't even a cost of living raise. They think were a bunch of dummies since we didn't go college, let's see them come out and fix this stuff instead of sitting on their butts and condemning us. If they screw us over again and keep up the lies then maybe someone should be alerted to look into this companies ethics and curriculum.ie the media. That should get their attention. Supposedly there wasn't any money to do anything but the mucky mucks got their bonuses and there was money to build new buildings and open more campuses. Hopefully things change, but don't hold your breath.

First off let’s make one thing perfectly clear, home office has not does not and will not care about their employees at the campuses. When we post on this site it may give us a since of empowerment because we are venting our frustrations but it also gives them ammunition to tell us all the lies they know we want to here. The only sure way to protect ourselves and our FAMILIES is a contract plain and simple. When you have a contract that’s when we the instructor are truly protected. As of this moment home office can come down with any change they see fit and we have to take it. Look that’s about all I have to say I can keep going but again ammunition for management to lie to us. A contract is the only protection instructors and their families have Plain and simple. So when the instructors are ready to really make a change that’s what needs to happen.

Someone told me about this site, what a site it is, everything that I have read is true and to the point, basically 90% of the students that go to UTI could not even pass a basic 3rd grade test, 70% of your instructors couldn't fix a car if their life depended on it, so the product you are turning out will never find jobs in the industry. so basically the quote goes, GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT, just like a computer in a car. Voice again. I just about threw up when I heard that we have 35 vice presidents, for 2000 employees? How is that even possible? Isn't that A HUGE MISUSE of title 4 funding???? How in the world can we be that top heavy?? What does a VP at UTI make, 150 to 200K a year while I and my co-instructors are making basically the same hourly rate we were 5 years ago??? I know the feds are going to come in soon and shut us down for our fraudulent waste of federal funding and I am not going to lie for Kim at all. Like I am going to cover for her after the way we have been treated. So Kim what is it going to be? Are you going to acknowledge our concerns or just try and shut us up again. Voice still here. I guess Vazquez was just letting me know that I should push students through the program whether they deserved it or not. He also told me that I should be able to encourage all my students to not fail my class. I asked him what if the student just doesn't care about passing the class? He told me that it is still my fault and it will be held against me on my yearly raise. That is when I knew that the only thing that mattered was just pushing students through the program regardless of their knowledge or attendance. How sad because once upon a time when I went to UTI students were held to very high standards. Anymore it is anything for a buck. Sorry I got off subject. Unless we are acknowledged then maybe we need to have a sick out, I know that it will put us behind and I do not ever want to hurt the good students but how much abuse and lies can we take????

So maybe the next time all three sessions at UTI line up to start on the same day everyone calls in sick. There is no holiday that phase and they can't fire all of us. Sure they can threaten and get real mad, stomp their feet, scream but it takes months to train instructors. It will take forever to get new instructors up and running, ready for the class room. Besides that who is going to train them? Mr. Vazquez????? LOL. I remember in new instructor training Vazquez told me that if a student fails my class that it is my fault, if a student hours out of my class it is my fault and if a student fails in professionalism it is my fault. Basically he was telling me to make the class easy, teach the test questions, don't grade the lab work very hard, don't mark them for being late AND be creative with their attendance.

To "Lets be smart" I hear what you are saying and agree that a sick out will put us behind but we can lose one day. We deal with it all the time. It is just obvious to me that this sick out may be the only way to get our message heard and acknowledged by Kim and upper management. I and other contributors to this site have begged Kim to let us know that she has heard our message and cry for help but nothing. In fact her response was to send out an E-mail to management ordering them to say that they have never read this site nor will they ever read this site. To just totally ignore us and our pain.

@lets be smart, that's a bold move, asking for union representation. If you haven't reached out to a union, email me if you are serious, but ONLY if you (and several others) are serious. In the meantime, you are legally supposed to be protected from being harassed for organizing. Of course, that doesn't stop UTI from firing you illegally, or digging up dirt and firing you for another reason.

What really pisses me off about rancho was that you had the good ol boy club of instructors and managers who could do no wrong. To this day there's still instructors who have their heads up certain vp's asses and get away with anything they want in the classroom and would have been fired in a heartbeat. Then there was the shifts. 530-715pm and 12pm to 1 am shifts that didn't stop. You ask to switch, and the answer was next phase around. Then you have to get a doctor to tell UTI to stop overworking you. How many twelve hour days does the management do consistently? It's time the leaders act like leaders and set the example. How many times did I have to listen to the king of all retards show everyone how UTI powerful he was? Or have a EM waffle on their stance on discipline? Then there was one EM who was so full of himself he even had to make a arrogant comment about flexing his power. So glad I'm out of UTI and making more than a months wage there in a week of 8-5 where I'm at now. Plus my boss recognizes my work and abilities instead of putting me down for things out of my control.

The only thing that home office worries about is money! If you want to make a statement it’s going to have to cost them money, otherwise they won’t care. A sick out or blue flu will last a day and will effectively just put us a day behind for the course and we will all be pissed (instructors). If we really want to make change and a positive one we need to stop bitching about other instructors there preferred shift we need to unite and be as one. Remember people there is power in numbers! The best thing we could do to protect us and cost home office money is to straight up unionize! This will effectively cost home office money. They intern will probably have to let go a few of the 35 vice presidents they have. Seriously UTI has 35 vice presidents lol. How can a campus (Rancho) make 28 million but UTI as a whole only profits 1.8 or 2.8 million? The answer 35 vice presidents. We need to unite stop throwing other instructors under the bus and let’s start a collective bargaining agreement. Let’s take back our school and run it the way we need to run it! Remember Sean Carlson said at our in service day “Kim and I don’t have all the answers that’s why we need your ideas” well if they openly admit they do not know what they are doing we as instructors need to fix the problems. We need to unite plain and simple.

Kimberly made 1.7 million dollars last year and no instructor that I have talked to even came close to a cost of living increase. I am supposed to feel bad that Kimmy made 400K less then last year but SHE PUT US INTO THIS SITUATION. How can she take any salary knowing that her actions have driven UTI into the ground. Kim the information is out there, most of your VP's are ineffective losers but still you employ them and give them bonuses. WHY,WHY,WHY??? Why don't you make Cranston punch in and out like we do and dock his pay when he fails to put in 8 hours a day? Kim how in the hell did you and UTI pay out over 2 million in bonuses last quarter with how bad we have been financially? How much did you get KIM???? It appears that this year we are going to get a pathetic raise because of your instructions to middle management. And you wonder why you can't get any decent applicants for the Ranch or Long Beach.

But Sean Carlson thought that this was perfectly acceptable. Dugan never was thanked or apologized to. Marcos Meza had a student that was caught during class trying to steal tools from UTI. Not only was the student not expelled but was allowed to return to class as if nothing ever happened. Jesus Christ, Rhonda and Sean could give a rats butt about the instructors as long as the students remained happy and didn't quit. Roger in your meetings you told us "Forget about the past and trust me" So Uti has screwed us over for the last 6 or 7 years and we are just supposed to forget about it??? No Roger we will not forget about the past and we are not ever going to trust you until you do things that make us trust you.

I just want all the information to be transferred onto this thread so we never forget how much we have been through. Like when instructors had students actually threaten them with physical violence but went and cried to Quisha and were allowed back into that instructors class. Who cares if an instructor is threatened because if any action was taken against the student he may drop out and THAT CAN'T EVER HAPPEN. Oh my God we may lose his tuition. The Ranch has constantly taken the word of students over instructors time and time again. Imagine that you are teaching a class, doing the best job that you can and you happen to upset a student. That student then goes to the campus president, lies and says that the instructor had said raciest and sexiest remarks during class. The instructor is then sent home for 3 or 4 days scared to death about what was happening and had no idea if he would continue having a job or means to support himself or his family. Then the instructor is called and told to return to work without any apology or explanation and then has Student Services put that student back into his class. Without ANY APOLOGY AT ALL. This is what happened to Chuck Dugan and he was just expected to go along with it. Can you imagine having to teach a student that lied about you in hopes of getting you fired for 3 whole weeks?

I have read all the previous comments and opinions form the others about U.T.I. as a business for profit and from a moral standpoint. The company’s motto is people, purpose and profit; they should change it to profit, profit, and more profit. As a former employee being an instructor for almost ten years, I completely agree. From the outside looking in, it undoubtedly looks very impressive, but on the inside it’s a whole other story. The average age’s that make up the student body is anywhere from eighteen to twenty five years old, there are some older students, but it’s a smaller percentage. Not all, but most of the students have a very poor attitude are disrespectful and have the attitude of “you owe me”, because I’m paying forty plus thousand, so I should be able to do what ever I want.

Management at the Rancho campus is like a revolving door, I had seen four campus presidents and the education managers are like a private cigar club. They have no spine when it comes to student discipline now, and will not back up the instructors because of the thought of loosing a student adding to the low campus population/enrollment problem. In my department I was disgusted with the hammered run down equipment and training aids. They were beyond repair and were not even suitable to be sold at a swap meet. Many instructors were forced and had their employment threatened if they did not work double shifts that would tally a fourteen hour day for weeks or months. Many had to get written medical reasons from their doctors that would hold them to an eight hour day, but management questioned that also. The company also for years was breaking the state of California labor law for meal breaks, they were sued and the company had to back pay many instructors that totaled in the millions, and still they didn’t learn.

I used to take great pride in teaching, and gave the students more than they paid for, but again the majority didn’t care, they slept, played on their phone, disappeared for lengthy amounts of time, and when they failed, management would blame me. That was a tool for management to use against the instructors as pass/fail rates for any merit increases. U.T.I is supposed to be an adult education school, but what I saw; it’s nothing more than a daycare facility.

It’s a big sham, take the money, herd them through, and don’t make it too hard to pass. But that comes at a big price, U.T.I.’s reputation in the automotive industry is very poor, time and time again I have had shop owners and management at dealerships tell me they won’t hire anymore U.T.I. graduates. Because they are arrogant, disrespectful and don’t know anything. U.T.I. has done the acronym, Untrained Total Idiots because of the poor product they release into the automotive work industry.

I was let go without even given a reason as to why after being an instructor for almost ten years. At the Rancho campus they just recently fired the campus president Sean Carlson, he was undoubtedly the worst CP they ever had, he had no clue, or any background in a position like that or any automotive experience. There is a woman that holds the position of director of education by the name of Migdalia Vazquez-Valle that is a royal BITCH!, she has the nickname of the “Hatchet lady”, because of the bloodshed of employee terminations from her. Company moral is in the shitter, and everyone’s tired of walking on eggshells, wondering whose next. Another thing I had also noticed over the years was that no one ever wanted to hear the truth, there are many problems within, but nothing ever seemed to change, nor do I see it changing in the future.

I am very sorry but I am lying also to UTI and the world. I must make follow up calls to graduates and am told that if a graduate is working then 3/4 of them is working in the automotive. If I can't get ahold of them then most of them must have gotten work in automotive. If I don't lie then I will be let go and replaced.

I don't understand what else you want us to do Kim. We all have made our classes incredibly easy to pass, we teach test questions over and over, we don't mark students late, we look the other way when it comes to attendance, we tell them exactly what to write on their labs and we let them do whatever they want so they don't get upset and give poor evaluations or heaven forbid QUIT!! My offer is still on the table Kim, if you promise me safe passage I will bust my butt to help you turn this company around. I read that a manager has posted on this site and finally explained the review procedures. So this is why we get crappy raises because upper management does not allow lower management to truthfully review their employees? That is horrible especially when I read to day that UTI paid out 2,139,000 in bonuses last quarter. Look it up yourself on Inside Track. I don't understand we are having a crappy year financially but we paid over 2 million in bonuses??? I tried to find out who received this money but could not. Could someone please find out where the information is and post it on the website here? How can upper management continue to be ineffective and still receive a bonus. While an instructor who is killing himself trying to educate his students and has absolutely nothing to do with our current situation receive a raise less then the cost of living. Damn you Kim, damn you, damn you, damn you.

My friends we have the chance to turn this company around and get back to when our students were the absolute best of the best and not the pushed through idiots that some of them are. Please my friends help me repost all the information that was on "Going, going, gone" to ensure that we all remember what we have gone through, the lies, crappy raises, loss of bonuses, loss of benefits and the unfairness of work schedules. I don't think that this site will sell us out because of the nature of this site. If it is found out that they violated anonymity then it the site is gone, not to mention lawsuits LOL. My friends at home office also told me that an E-mail went out telling ALL senior management to deny that they have ever read this site and swear that they never would read this site. I am trying to get a copy of it forwarded to me and I will share it if I do. It was just very funny when Roger at the Ranch said those words but everything he promised to fix had been brought up here.

Honestly I don't blame this site at all because we all know how much this issue of cyber bullying has everyone freaking out.
