Thread regarding Ascena Retail Group Inc. layoffs

DressBarn closing

Ascena is terrible....Associates hear on the news that the store is closing...still waiting for some type of formal notice from company ....worked there for 2 years....now that they are closing offered an assoc. Manager position to help them as people leave....I say no way....working til the end for minimum wage....and I will never ever step foot in another Ascena store.

Shady company ...... That’s why they don’t offer employees to do grass roots anymore. Unethical

Ive been with the company 2 years. Since the announcement in May it’s been a complete $*%!show. We have finally have our date, and I’m ready for it to be over. ^Above commenter^ Don’t expect much as PT, they changed the severance 2 days prior to announcing the company shutdown, so ONLY full time positions are getting a payout. Unless something changes, many people are staying and getting nothing in return other than alot of new inconsiderate bargain shoppers coming solely for the closing “deals”. From someone who is going through the closing process now, find something to ground your mind and emotions you’re going to need it...the lack of information drives me up the wall and the impending workload has myself and my team exhausted and so ready for the end.

I’ve been working at Dressbarn for 4 years as a part time Asst. Manager. We learned of the closing as well as any updates from hearing it in the news. As of this date, we have not received any news on when our particular store will close, if we will receive compensation packages. We have been treated really ugly during this process. There were signs prior to hearing we were closing , that they really don’t care about their employees, but now we are able to see it even more. I/ we ( my team) feel very used by Dressbarn. Business is business, I/ we can understand that. But respect your workers enough to allow them to plan for their financial future , with giving support and information.
