About 60% of the staff will be laid off on August 21, 2019 be prepared. There will be no severance either. I was instructed and now finding out that I'm on that same list. To find anything on everyone to have just cause to fire someone to prevent everyone from getting even unemployment. We were instructed to fight everything to the fullest. I had to put in paper work for some employees that were only late 1 min or clocked in 1 min in the past year. That's the only thing I could find on those employees but that's what is getting used for just cause on termination.
Have your resumes ready because you will need them.

What was the severance? They reported $20M in severance Sept 10th.
Yeah they're still not being honest with their employees. They told them no more large scale layoffs meanwhile outsourcers are flying in and are training for the rest of remaining IT jobs.
Yep!
some more layoffs will come in IT in next few months, most of the jobs will be outsourced
Outsourcing all of IT? Wow Trumps gonna be p-ss-d... LOL
They started it on the 20th. It is happening as I type this
Layoffs are real. Severance is being offered. 60% isn't reasonable but seems to be big numbers. Lots of long termers.
Layoffs are happening today. Maybe up to 300 people at the corporate office.
So far, everyone that I've heard of has received a severance so I'm questioning how accurate your information is. 60% is too drastic. They will do this in levels as they have been.
In IT they will outsource and offshore.
The list has already been created. Its huge.
Please get your resume's updated and start immediately applying for a new job. Do whatever you have to do to protect your families and yourself. This is going to be brutal. No severance is being offered. This is happening and this is real. Please please protect yourself.
Sources claim to be home office positions and not stores.
Is this stores or corporate?
True. Nothing can surprise me. Not even 60%
Appears to be somewhat true... I'm seeing posts from employees about layoffs happening or coming soon. I doubt it'll be 60% but who knows.
How will GameStop operate with only 40% of their staff after the lay off?
60% seems very, very high.
