Kroger should go to the Layton, Utah Distribution Center. They're extremely top-heavy in salaried Middle Management, all of whom receive bonus checks, along with a healthy salary. You might even say they're grossly overpaid.
The Loaders, Order Fillers, Maintenance Personnel, and Reach Operators are all on a computerized labor system that instructs them of their tasks, and tracks their productivity levels, which dictates their hourly pay rates. If Kroger wants to reduce operating costs, that's the first place they should look.
