Thread regarding Flight Safety Technologies Inc. layoffs

Didn't see it coming!

Flightsafety decided to LAY OFF (terminate) employees with NO NOTICE whatsoever! I understand companies are having a difficult time right now, however, if you are signing contracts and continuing to bring in business - shouldn't you be considered a valuable asset to the company? Not only that, because they delay paying quarterly commissions in a timely manner, I'm out 4 months of commissions! I worked for it, I earned it, but they don't have to pay me? Also, who cuts off your medical insurance with no warning? Most companies give you a 2 week period to find medical insurance. Not FSI - tomorrow we have no medical insurance. This is insane!

I am late posting this, I just found the site. I was terminated from Tampa (FSTAT). I hate to burst anyone’s bubble but this was nothing more than a way to eliminate anyone that ever had a complaint about anything or questioned their supreme commander’s authority. Anyone have any stories about their experience?

I have to agree that FSI placed me on furlough for 3 months with the PROMISE I would return on Aug. 1rst. I received a call on a Friday, two days before my return to work date stating you no longer have a job. Severance was BS, insurance coverage ran out. I could have been looking for a job for 3 months, but they chose to keep me in the dark. I was a strong employee, did anything I was was directed to do.
I believe because m programs did not have a strong client base base, I was deemed "unessential".
But still, people who just hired on are still there..???????

LGB also had layoffs. I was completely blindsided. I'd been working hard, very busy, there was no slow down for me. Out of the blue received a call the morning of April 30th saying that was my last day, I'd already received my pay with all my PTO paid out. They clearly had known for well over a week before telling me. My manager wasn't informed until after I'd been told. I'd even had a one on one email conversation several days before with one of the new senior execs about the need to stick together, teamwork, through this trying time blah blah blah. All the while, he knew my name was on the list of terminations!! They laid off 700 "teammates" in the end. Almost 500 from non-operational positions (such as customer support, sales, IT, etc.) Most were over the age of 50. During the termination call, they actually invited me to apply for positions at FSI in the future!!!! Thanks but I don't work for backstabbers.

3 weeks severance pay was pathetic. Come on Warren, treat your employees right.

Had some layoffs in Texas too.I thought it was company-wide but from reading the comment above maybe some were hit harder than others, and some not at all. What a time to have a new CEO.

I heard no-one lost their job at FlightSafety Columbus, but there were several firings/furloughs at FlightSafety Atlanta. A lot of people were furloughed because they were "assistant" budget director, "assistant" this or that. Also, employees with little/no sim qualifications were the most common to go. It's such a shame.

That is shady and absolutely unreal. I know some people got only furlough with recall rights, but as far as insurance it's probably not paid either.
