Thread regarding IKEA layoffs

Is IKEA hiring? Is there a specific period when it's better to apply?

I heard a lot of good things about IKEA, including that they seldom have layoffs. I'd have to move to work there but honestly, after working at BBBY for four years, I'd be willing to do that if I knew I had a chance to get a job. This might not be the best place to ask this, but I'm not sure where else to inquire.

IKEA corporate in Conshohocken is always hiring so there is not necessarily a better time. I have been there 15 years and it's true there are rarely layoffs. They do "reorganize" every five years or so and through that, lower performers are sometimes not able to find jobs in the new organization. Even if they do leave through the reorganization, they are taken care of with lofty severance and career outplacement.
