Austin Pets Alive! confirmed to KVUE that it will reduce about 20 positions to "maintain" its life-saving work.
The shelter made the decision Wednesday. As a nonprofit rescue, every donation counts at Austin Pets Alive! But with many Americans still feeling the brunt of inflation, Lucy Fernandez- the Intake Diversion Program Manager at the shelter - says it has affected them.
"People that are donors are now in need of help and vice versa," Fernandez said.
