In an effort to downsize spending following another year of meandering student enrollment numbers, the Burbank Unified School District Board of Education voted Thursday to layoff 11 teachers and 19 certificated staff members, while reducing an additional 70 unfilled positions.
Layoffs are set to be finalized in May and could change if the district identifies new sources of revenue, or if staff chooses to retire.
