Most likely cost cutting efficiency quarterly targets set by high level executives. It is either shrinking its online news presence or outsourcing to cheaper places (aka East Europe, Asia including India). The question is will the current Federal administration start to adding proportional tariffs on software that is developed outside USA to encourage keeping more software/AI jobs with needs considerable expertise within US.
Is Sinclair going through major re-structuring as it is hard to hire software engineers for non-tech company such as Sinclair? They were planning to sell 30% of their broadcast TV stations last year before the elections https://www.cnbc.com/2024/05/09/sinclair-explores-selling-30percent-of-broadcast-stations.html.
