Thread regarding United States Layoffs layoffs

C1

Minnesota-based IT services firm C1 is laying off staff across departments, including sales, operations, IT, and strategic alliances. The company, formerly known as ConvergeOne, said the cuts are part of a shift to invest in growth and stay competitive. Affected employees, including high-level roles, began announcing the layoffs on social media in recent weeks.

C1 emerged from bankruptcy in June 2024 after trimming $1.6 billion in debt. The restructuring left key creditors unpaid, including Ingram Micro ($39.7M) and ScanSource ($21.2M). One C1 subsidiary’s bankruptcy case remains open.

Analysts say the layoffs reflect wider industry trends as AI adoption automates many roles. C1 has been adding AI to its offerings and may rehire in the future as part of a talent shift.
