The entertainment news show Extra has laid off an unspecified number of staff ahead of its 32nd season. The layoffs are part of an annual internal review of staffing and production processes, not performance-related. The show, which recently saw the departure of longtime host Billy Bush, is undergoing a revamp with a new host and a refreshed format. Jeremy Spiegel will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Extra, produced by Telepictures and distributed by Warner Bros, remains one of the longest-running syndicated entertainment newsmagazines and was recently renewed by Fox Television Stations.
