Huge swaths laid off with no notice, effective immediately; some during PTO; some on the verge of submitting major projects to clients. Sounds like they need to fix their numbers urgently by cutting weight but there already wasn't enough staff to support turnover or even PTO coverage.

For those of you shidrools (probably Wiley HR) who are thumbs-downing this post, there is a WARN notice filed for John Wiley & Sons in Hoboken, NJ. It states that 103 people are getting the axe, with effective dates of 12/31/2023, 1/1/2024, and 2/15/2024. So, more cannings may be on the way in the future as well as those that have already occurred. Just look up NJ WARN notices to see it for yourself.
