I found a better job for more pay and less stress after being laid off from TU last year. It was scary at first for sure but in hindsight it was the best thing that happened to me because I was miserable on a daily basis here.

What is ACA that you got instead of COBRA ?
Thanks for positive messages! To who is watching this thread to pass on the help for landing a job- need some help pranacamero@gmail.com
File after last day of employment
When does someone laid off with severance package file with state for unemployment? On your last day of employment with TU? Or last paycheck? Confusing.
Yep, it's tough out there. File for unemployment asap. Also I didn't use COBRA and signed up for ACA instead to save money. Crazy how a company can just take away and ruin what may be nearly a year of my life while Cartwright is out there suffering no repercussions. At worst he's fired with millions. We are basically suffering for their bad decisions.
I am trying to get in touch with who said they will try to pass on any help to land a job. Its 3rd month without job and Im starting to panic. I have got 4 interviews yet but nothing in hand yet.
I've applied to 102 jobs since I found out I was being laid off - started applying in January of this year in preparation for my Feb 23rd termination date.
I've had a whopping six responses at all, and five interviews -- one of which was with TU for an expanded version of my previous role...and I haven't gotten a single job offer yet.
It's horrible out there, especially in tech. I'm glad you all are enjoying better mental health outside of TU, but I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to pay my bills.
I’m happy to read these words of encouragement.
Laid off in Feb and still job hunting. Glad you found something; gives me hope that it's just the market and we'll all find new roles eventually.
An idea for you 2 to initially connect is for one to post a temp email address that is anonymized (if you're concerned about anonymity that is). Leverage that to exchange real contact info.
"Lucky you. I'm still unemployed, trying me best."
Im watching this thread for a response.
How do I get in touch with you? I will help in any way I can. I was surrounded by great people who helped me when I was RIF'd in the 2/2/24 group. I am happy to pay that forward if you see value.
Not only is there life after TU, life is better after TU. I guarantee it.
Although I wasn’t laid off, I’m still one of the many top performers who didn’t get a raise this year. But hey, it’s all for the good of the company, right?
As Chris says, “this will make us stronger”. Does that make you feel better? No? Me neither.
Thank you for posting a positive message. Glad that someone reminded us of the happiness after leaving TU.
Lucky you. I'm still unemployed, trying me best.
I was happy when I was laid off last year. Of course you have stress but I didn’t want to be there. I wanted to leave 3 years ago and glad I didn’t. I got a nice severance package and found work in two months. The work place is he-l of lot better then TU conditions and toxic workplace. Leadership just handing off other people’s work and I was paid the same. Once upon a time TU was a good place to work. Once Jim Pe-k left for this Cartwright the 🤡 life went downhill. I am at much better work place better hours and really found life/work balance. But I will never stay with one company anymore loyalty doesn’t mean sh-t these days and that’s how I will treat the next employers. Two week notice no way. Companies don’t deserve a notice. We all need to be at will employees. Just like companies. I didn’t get a two week notice of my layoff. He-l I didn’t even get a farewell.
I wasn't miserable. I loved my team and the work we did. I was RIF'd regardless. Landed a better-paying role a step up the ladder elsewhere before the severance was depleted. Keep your heads high and your spirits higher.
COngrats! I left TU back in 2019, things were getting bad - it was a good decision.
