Thread regarding Wiley layoffs

Layoffs continue in 2024

Layoffs continue in 2024, and with no strategy to increase revenue, the approach has been to shed costs. There seems to be no rationale on who is impacted, maybe other then salary, as the individuals are actively working on critical projects. Based on Wiley's recent earnings call, additional reductions will be necessary as they are still $50m short of the $130m cost reduction they have committed to.

Wiley is a sinking ship. Multiple rounds of layoffs during the last 6 to 9 months demonstrate that there is a historic pattern of firing people in order to try and reduce costs. Overall, the management team ceases to have the vision to be able to innovate and deliver competitive products that are relevant in today’s business environment. The future does not look bright at Wiley. Career longevity, let alone any kind of career growth, is very uncertain for almost everyone.
