Layoffs today 5/30, does anyone know how many were apart of this?

ASO here. Our CSM and 2 CSS’s were let go and now we’re told we’re aligning with MPSC. The future is not bright. Get your resumes together ASAP

Loved my job at Paychex until I was fired for a bull$hit reason and denied unemployment. Employee of the month in July and canned in October. What the he-l is going on at Paychex?

Long term Paychex employee. Very worried about my future. I hoped to retire from Paychex someday in the future. Wonder if I will still have a job? We were told no cuts to our group for now. So we are safe. Just changing how we do our job. I feel for the whole group let go. The managers they let go were a shock!

John Gibson should resign. Horrible leader! Terrible communication. Market team strategy is trash. Took way too long to get a VP in HR.Oasis acquisition was the worst decision in Paychex history. The board should really rethink the CEO position.

Started in the ‘80s when it was still a good place to work. 2015 was when the mess started; reorganized and people were thrown into jobs they didn’t want. We were told “take it or leave it, you’re lucky to still have a job.” I stuck it out until 2022 and decided no more. Horrible last few years there and many managers treated us like cr-p. I am so glad to have gotten out when I did. If it wouldn’t affect so many great people, I’d like nothing better than to see the company go under. It would serve those mf’ers at the top right!

Slavechex is finally showing its true colors, i feel horrible for those who lost their jobs hope you all land on your feet soon. But to be honest this company has not been a “best place to work” in a very long time I know they promote that to recruit but it’s not true is all for the churn and burn of employees

What a way to start of the new year, moral here has been in the dump for the past 2 years and this makes it worse I’m hearing from colleagues left and right worried about what’s going to happen next and I am too. It’s time to follow those who left before us I tried to stay loyal but I am scared loyalty is a one way street here Tom we miss you this is not the same place

Like many locals here in Rochester I once worked at Paychex lol right of passage I guess. So sad to hear about the unexpected layoffs. FYI this is just the tip of the iceberg plenty more to come my brother is a manager at the yatch club and Golisano was there yesterday and knew what was coming. If you are still at Paychex start looking and if you find a new job run and don’t look back

This hasn’t been a company loyal to employees in over 10+ years. My first 10 years there were awesome. The best company I ever worked for. After that, the worst. Lack of care about employees. Only caring about the bottom line, and blatant discrimination against those with differences (even though they preach otherwise). I’m not surprised these layoffs came, and of course they announced them on a Friday. Steer clear of this poorly run company, and find a truly great and better place to work at.

Paychex is doing exactly what ADP did.

It’s shown over the last few years that they could care less about their clients or their employees. In the past, our product wasn’t great but what set us apart from the competition was our service. Our best left and I wish I would have jumped ship with them but I stayed loyal and yet here I am. I don’t trust anything these executives say.

SMB implementation senior manager, CSM and all the CSS that fell under them got let go. No plan on what to do with the employees who reported to those supervisors. Other leadership in the org only started piecing together what happened when escalations started pouring in their outlook for areas outside of their own. The ramp up of global on the back end will surely cause many non client facing positions (loaders, doc collectors, pivots) to be outsourced. Scary times.

New CEO, new third party consulting company PYX is meeting with, massive changes to the org have been happening this fiscal year. A layoff was inevitable per the earnings call and ERTC getting shot down. Sounds like a business decision was made to cut costs and outsource the work overseas and use AI to replace the work load. It would be super helpful if others would list their departments that were laid off (so others can update their resumes ASAP) and companies that may be hiring for those roles in this thread. Wishing you all a successful path forward during this terrible time.

I want to start by stating that I feel awful for anyone who has lost their job. These are real people and this has a real impact on their lives. This is not the same company or culture that I remember when I started with Paychex several years ago. If you work for Paychex and are still rocking or promoting #paychexproud you are a fool. People are living in fear that their job is next and I believe the layoffs are just the beginning. This was once a great company that promoted itself on investing in people and now they are just another mega-corporation doing anything they can to cut costs, at the expense of employees who dedicate their entire lives to making a difference at the company.

I have been at Paychex for 10 years. The ironic thing is that I was convinced to apply to Paychex by a family member that bragged about how much Paychex cared for their employees and did not let a single person go during the Great Recession. Oh, how the times have changed under Big John.

I bled Paychex Blue for over 5 years and turned down interviews from former managers who left now I’m out of a job without a reason as to why. Meanwhile reps like Adam Pelish who is a liability to the company is still here and has a job he has harassed and disrespected colleagues and clients for years HR had a documentation of the incidents and they turned a blind eye.

Best decision I made was leaving Paychex 3 years ago and I am sure you know someone who was with the company for 10-15+ years who have also left for a competitor because the writing was on the wall so much for the best place to work or paychex proud. If you are still there good luck

Been with them over 20 years. CEO doesn’t care about the employees! Done extremely poor with no care for us. Then another slap in the face with the severance package for being a loyal employee. Everyone should be scared since they have moved many tasks to India. Very sad!!!! I would love to know who decides the “Top Company to Work for” and “Top training awards”. Their train is slim to none.

4 locations (Denver, Indianapolis, Nashville, Albuquerque), hundreds of employees from across the company. In Rochester corporate, some long-time EEs, including training, communications, HR, IT. Shock-waves throughout the company.

I was at Paychex working on my 10th year!! And just like that, I’m done! No loyalty from a company that’s supposedly a great company to work for! How can they do such a thing to people who have worked there for so many years?!?! Someone in my team has been there for 20 years! She’s so afraid of not being able to find a new job because of her age. This is shocking, sad and unprofessional!

Done very poorly. We were hired for remote position and the snap of a finger your fired. Was a top producer and made conference. Just goes to show you corporate does not care about the employees. No option to even relocate. Never will ever recommend Paychex.

We had 62 people in sales let go on a last minute conference call. It was done so poorly and without compassion.

Sales assistant of 5 years here. Laid off today effective 6/7. There were 30 people on the call with me. Jenn crosley let us know the news and ended the call. It was about 5 mins long. I’m devastated.

Closing four locations... Albuquerque, Indy, Nashville, Denver. Terminating employees, especially tenured managers, and offering supervisors demotions to front line positions or making them take a severance. Terms are effective immediately. Aweful way to balance the books at fiscal year end.
