Remote and RTO Musings

For those who were always remote (not impacted by COVID-19 stay at home) how do you feel being forced into 'hybrid' because Susan thinks you're too introverted? If you've been successful by TU's own year-end standards all these years, why do you suddenly need improvement in socialization? Who is TU to tell you to change yourself?

I feel there's a motive to forcibly change how employees view values in America with RTO. There are events at offices that don't align with my values. I don't make a big stink about it even though each year some of these events are nothing short than being rammed down my throat.

Why not accept the differences and let employees work from where they've been powerful and successful? Remote, hybrid, in office full time, TU shouldn't give a sh-t! I know someone in CR who is perfect for two roles but the requirement to be in an office prevents them from submitting their resume. Of course this is happening in US too. TU letting great candidates walk away before they even connect with the company is so foolish.

Sales is hurting. The layoff impact is being felt. Can barely get anything done and GCC is no help. Ever called a GCC?

Don't understand the hate for sales. The decent chunk of them go into the office and have daily KPIs... Without sales you would have nothing.

Sales and going to office can’t relate. They too busy golfing, getting drunk during business hours and on vacation 365 days a year.

TU got rid of many US offices over summer and fall 2023 and once they were done with that they announced RTO.

What offices (city) have been closed? Has there been any recent ones?

Maybe TU is just blowing smoke? I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble because they aren't going into an office. Wouldn't they have made an example of someone by now? It's been almost 8 months since announcing hybrid is a thing.

"TU letting great candidates walk away before they even connect with the company is so foolish."

This! I don't know why Susan M is so hellbent on locking out talent from coming to TU. She's a real wrecking machine.

I resent sales because they're remote. I was remote too but forced into a hybrid situation that is eating away at my budget and life balance. TU su-ks. Does not recommend!

Did they announce something? I don't have an email about anything like this

It’s hypocrisy. They are sitting on buildings that are collapsing in the commercial real estate market. This year will be even worse.

The obvious thing is nobody go in. I mean nobody. They getting rid of everyone? I know it seems that way now and not everyone would do it but a mass boycott of not showing up is what needs to happen. Besides people who are being told they are hybrid are already not showing up and there have been no repercussions. I say force their hand. Everyone stay home and see what happens. What is there really to lose at this point?

Did you notice that the sales team featured in the town hall were all remote associates? Are they somehow able to build trust with their teams that those of us “close” to an office can’t…or so they say? Maybe the ridiculous meeting makeover could help us all figure that trust thing out. Lol

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. We need to save money, move jobs overseas. I need to save money since you're laying me off. I'm not coming into the office. Fk your RTO policy.

How can we be told we are a Global Company but be mandated to be told it has it be done in office?

Susan can go pound sand. Everything can be done via teams. She can stop worrying who is too introverted. Bottom line is we are not family. We are work related acquaintances mostly.

Anybody that I deem a friend I meet up with for lunch, dinner or weekends. It’s all a joke. How about let those who want to be in office come in? Leave the rest of us alone.

Oh yeah. We don’t like you Susan.
