Franklin, Tenn.-based Kaiser Aluminum is closing its 194,000 square-foot Sherman facility at 4300 Highway 75 South by June 30 and eliminating 75 employees.
The automotive and aerospace aluminum supplier and manufacturer has been working out of Sherman since 1963. The plant was responsible for producing aluminum materials like sheets, plates, billets, redraw rods, extrusions, forgings and tube products.
Kaiser currently operates 15 facilities around the country, according to its website. The company does not expect this plant closure to become a prelude to more closures, a Kaiser Aluminum representative said in an email to The Dallas Morning News.
