Thread regarding Waters Corp. layoffs

Under no circumstances sign a new contract for day shift only or any transfer from departments

An employer may refuse to pay out redundancy and instead find a new role for an employee within the business. In this case, if you accept a contract or re-engagement with immediate effect and the terms of this scenario are the same as your previous contract, you will lose your claim to redundancy

So if I don't accept a job at the same company with worse working conditions and my employer fired me because of that, I can't access severance pay?

Your employer cannot change your contract without your agreement, but they can change your work practices. Legally, there is a difference between contractual terms and work practices. Contractual terms include your pay, hours of work, sick pay and pension scheme.there is no redundancy in the case of being fired.you may have a case for unfair dismissal if you feel you they are using this to make you leave.

What if I refuse to work day shift and Waters Wexford fires me for this, will I not also receive redundancy pay? I am not well acquainted with Irish employment law regulations.
