Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

New roles?

Layoffs happened two weeks ago and leadership had said everyone in a country that they could communicate changes should have been informed of their new role. There are people in the organization that live and work in the USA that have been told they have been retained, have a role, but leadership doesn’t know what their roles will be or who they will report to. Still a lot in limbo and mixed messages.

No one knows wtf they are doing. They cut headcount so the cargill macmillan family could cash out the $2 billion they wanted with less impact to the bottom line. Now middle mgt is trying to figure out wtf to do. There is no real plan. This is the reality.

To the person who wrote that in EMEA they can't announce new org and roles - you're wrong. We know the new ELT org (there was official msg) and many managers (and their subordinates) were already notified about their new role in EMEA. I know this from 3 of those managers.

EMEA still in consultation period with workers council, so can’t announce new org and roles till that has finished otherwise it would rather pre-empt the process (not saying they don’t already know or indeed will take any notice of EWC recommendations) just that legally they can’t do it

I had this same question for town hall, got no response.
Within weeks of the call from group leader confirming you have a role, the reorganization comes which simplifies the process and again lets ilgo bunch of people who were told anout confirmed role.
That confirmation was only for that day.

In IT, the last time this happened (saying about new reorg/new roles), many managers who weren’t mapped to roles were let go. So, I guess it’s a real possibility they will do more layoffs.
