Thread regarding City of Houston layoffs

City of Houston Layoffs 2016

I am surprised there are no layoffs here? How about 200K jobs that were lost in 2015 and about 100K that will be lost in 2016? It's possible that things will get even more ugly in 2016 and we seem to be facing another pricing meltdown as it relates to oil. I know for sure that most of oil and gas companies in the city had major cuts in 2015 and are cutting capital spending for 2016. City of Houston will continue to suffer and nobody knows where and when all of this madness with job cuts will be stopping.

City employees are not sitting around looking at t.v. They are hard at work keeping our water flowing, trash picked up, streets repaired, keeping our community clean and healthy, maintaining our public parks and libraries, answering emergency calls and directing fire and police just to name a few on an already short staffed workforce. The city needs to better manage its funds and show some respect to the hard working people who consistently work hard to keep our great city running.

Good idea to save tax money. The City should not hire too many employees and then they have nothing to do than watching movies during work time:
