Michael Kors fired people at all levels. VP's to assistants were cut. Kind of surprising that heads of departments were fired. Management must be desparate to maintain stock prices until they can dump their stock. Bernie Sanders was right about a rigged economy. Donald Trump will not help this rigged system.

This round of layoffs at Michael Kors was tough. They let go about 100 people. This round was a little diffent since I think they let people go that contributed a lot to the company. Early rounds were people that you know either made too much or were just plain aweful at their job. I am definately on the the low side of pay and they still cut me. HR and my boss were really cold about the process. I cried when they called me in. So embarrassing.
Hang in there Allison. There are people that feel for you and have compassion for your situation.
I was part of the layoffs. Really s---s since I don't feel particularly rich. Kors worked us to death and I didn't get paid a lot. They didn't pay minimum wage but with a bachelors degree from a good college I barely had enough to cover my monthly loan payments. I heard some people got a good severance package but not me.
Ralph Lauren fired people as well. Michael Kors was not the only company to cut their staff. Difference is that the RL brand has longevity and will recover. Michael Kors make cheap knock offs and slap their logo on it. Michael Kors has been sued for copy right infringement. My impression is that it is not surprising that they fired people to keep their profits up. Slimy way to fool around with people's living. Corporate greed at its finest.
That's "compassion" for you. Making America Great Again.
What I meant was we should be compassionate for the minimum wage earners. Not necessarily sorry for Michael Kors employees that were fired. They make a lot of cash comparatively.
This is why Donald Trump will become president.
Is this Sarah Palin? My pseudonym is "Insider"!?!?!! Figure it out.
How do you know?
Believe me that anyone working in corporate America is part of the top 5%. The top management would be part of the 1%. No one is earning minimum wage.
It is always bad that someone gets fired. Some have families. But it is hard to feel bad when a VP get's fired. They make a ton of money. Feel bad for the minimum wage earner.
