Thread regarding The Wall Street Journal layoffs

What a way to deliver a news

OK, I get all this restructure was needed (to be honest, this house needed some cleaning badly) and that not every one would survive . But one would think that a respectful firm like WSJ is would do this layoffs more softly and with some humanity. The way they delivered the news to some of our colleagues recently is just shameful. I just hope this time there were more sensitive.

Corporations reduce surplus personnel for the simple reason- They can! Don’t buy the rhetorical nonsense and boilerplate “ you’re Fired “ Letters. Individuals need to stop defining themselves by what they do as opposed to who you are.

What positions and sites they were from? No names, cause this site doesn't allow it.

@szb, I agree, but that's no excuse for calling people on their day off to tell them they've been let go.

The WSJ needs to adopt, hence the cuts - they need more tech and less fluff
