Thread regarding Comtech Telecommunications Corp. layoffs

not layoffs but they certainly are still whacking middle managers weekly.

It cannot possibly be legal to have employees be on call so often - especially given what kind of service we do. We are grossly understaffed. It is clear the finance team is only ones making decisions - employee mental health and fair wage practices do not matter. Getting out - everyone else should as well!

Upper management is responsible for the sorry state of the company.

Ever since they took over Radyne they have lost their focus. Really bad Management. the only thing Tempe will be doing is focusing on Government products. UHP will taking over all the Network products. What is left at EF as management not good. Why do they have two RF house? They should have moved Xicom to Arizona cheaper to live all resources in one building. Other than that Viasat is hiring. I see the stock going down to the low teens. Time realize that they do not care about you anymore just a matter of time. It is a sh---y situation.

I worked for comtech for years, they laid me off after getting some new managers (post 9/11). Since the new managers, the company has hardly built anything knew, they just buy smaller companies and absorb their products, squeezing them for $$$ before tossing them aside.

But what I can tell you is this-- I started at Comtech, we bought EF Data afterwards, we made new products, innovated new and better solutions, and, basically, kicked backside. But 2005 and on, their stock has been dropping and they haven't innovated anything new. The team that was there were top notch ---kickers, but new management kicked all the good ones out, kept the cheapies to just maintain what the now-defunct team did. Quite a mess, but that's business.

well look i have worked for comtech. its in a good business of 911 (which is the xypoint to tcs to cometch). I think they are great but they wont last in the current market. So ledership knows this, and thats why they are self absorbed. Because if you know you are leading a team to failure - you have two choices - be honest and leave (ofcourse then you also need to have skills to get hired somewhere else), or be dishonest and stay in which case you will be dishonest not just with yourself but with everyone around. So all leaders in Comtech know they are part of a failing business and they cant get hired anywhere else so be selfobserved and remodel the houses while they can.

Also i would like to mention if you work for any company and they think you wanna b–ch about then, first there is something wrong with you - why are you with that company but stil wanna b–ch about.. Grow up, be honest with yourself.
