Thread regarding DaVita Inc. layoffs

Layoffs continue, poor HR, poor Mgmt...

I've been with DaVita for a few years now, and it was OK in the beginnning. However, massive layoffs continue for the past several years and there is a ton of anxiety. Even this week. Job Insecurity is pretty much the number one worry of all employees. HR does not help with this, layoffs are happening but they offer very little to help the worker, sometimes they cause confusion - overall they are unprofessional - one should expect much more from a Fortune 500 HR department, I'd expect accuracy, help, assistance, etc - they just cause confusion and are not helping...

From the leadership perspective, some folks are OK but most of them are really not that good - kind of people that you would not want to follow or use as a role model. This starts with managers but it goes all the way up - so, weak at best...

When you look at DaVita today, add layoffs, HR issues, weak leadership - what can I tell you - maybe it's time for me to start looking for a new job... Assuming they will not lay me off this week...

Davita just laid off 2,600 employees across the company, many of them nurses, care coordinators and assistants. It was a blood bath. One nurse I know who is laid off officially July 1, had 15 years with Davita. This company appeared to be different, with positive team work, no micro managing, but I learned the hard way job security and Davita are not synonymous. I was one of the top employees on my team, and earned a decent salary, but that is all in the wind now. Beware. I understand if more contracts are not renewed (possibly result of cutbacks by insurance companies due to covid 19 related expenses) more layoffs are expected to follow.

October 2nd Got laid off after 4 years of 60 to 92 hour work weeks. I was NOt allowed to take more than 2 days of vacation at a time and only with two weeks' notice. I was DaVita ITs salary but treated as an hourly slave. I would NEVER recommend anyone working there at all. I blame IT management.

Need to add a correction to the above post, it should have said two billion with a B in fines to the federal government for illegal activities. Use the speaker button for text and it isn't always very accurate.

after two decades of service I left the company a year ago. Poor management is putting it very lightly. The word corruption is the correct word to be used. I was retaliated against for reporting illegal activities which could be proven. after I resigned my position I went to see my financial advisor who warned me to quickly sell my DaVita stock. He had a computer program that demonstrated how the company was poorly managed and being mismanaged and the revenue was upside down. Davita's internal corruption also has caused more than two million dollars in fines from the government. It is my understanding that they now have a current lawsuit for failure to pay hourly workers their wages. I would believe these posts in the layoffs because this company most likely is very much under water and full of corruption!

Company email just went out today, 5 departments in the Pacific region got hit with layoffs. Not surprising, now that the HCP to DMG transition is in full effect, heads were bound to roll. Companies are not charities. CEO's are not looking out for the employees. Businesses cut costs, it's what they do. It's just a matter of time before the clinical sides are on the chopping block.

This reeks of click-bait. No names, no specific office, using "HR" (Which anyone in DaVita 'for a few years' wouldn't do.) ... If you substitute "DaVita" with a blank line, this post could be about any major corporation. I'm not buying it. Prove me wrong.

Has anyone been laid off this week? Why do you think it will happen this week?
