Company email just went out today, 5 departments in the Pacific region got hit with layoffs. Not surprising, now that the HCP to DMG transition is in full effect, heads were bound to roll. Companies are not charities. CEO's are not looking out for the employees. Businesses cut costs, it's what they do. It's just a matter of time before the clinical sides are on the chopping block.
Does anybody know is everybody who is getting laid off in this wave was notified by now?
We were told DMG has been growing the administrative staff faster than revenue growth. They made this cut with the intention of it being the only one and they did not want to make any clinical cuts. However if the revenue doesn't catch up then i could see them making another cut to clinical and everywhere in a year. And if that doesn't work then they would probably start dumping the DMG offices that don't make money.
I am not aware of any email to DMG as I was "escorted" from the FL premises yesterday morning. I was not allowed to take any of my personal belongings from my desk (they will mail them to me). This is what I know. The group consists of all general and administration employees working in non-clinician (non-patient-facing) positions for DMG in all of its national departments of Information Systems; Business Development; CHAPS Activities; Clinical Development; Compliance; Contracting; Executive Office; Finance Legal Services; Marketing/Communications; Patient Experience; Clinical Trials; IP Care Management; Medical Management; and Redwoods; and for TRC in its Information Technology enterprise leadership tier.
Was the email to DMG employees only? The DKC side has not received any notification about these layoffs. I wonder if it is because DKC layoffs are still in the works?
